Overview

Christopher & Banks is looking for a Sr. Director of Ecommerce for our Corporate Office in Plymouth, MN.

The Sr. Director of Ecommerce is responsible for overall profitability and growth of the Ecommerce business. This person should understand, monitor, and drive improvement in the P&L of Ecommerce as a business unit. This position will collaborate with cross-functional partners (Store Operations, Merchandising, Marketing and IT) to manage all aspects of Ecommerce including planning, content strategy and development, promotional campaigns and other online marketing, product merchandising, website design, customer service, web analytics, and web technologies. The Sr. Director of Ecommerce is responsible for the development and management of the customer experience including site navigation, content, development, checkout funnel, and promotional campaigns.

How you will spend your time...

  • Lead the creation and execution of the strategic vision and plan in terms of revenue and margin.

  • Leverage research and analysis to inform strategic long and short term recommendations and decisions on opportunities to pursue, and launch those initiatives to drive profitable topline business growth. Understand and identify key interdependencies and critical roadblocks, and appropriately align with the needs of the organization.

  • Responsible for the P&L of the Ecommerce business and drives success with focused KPIs that align with omni-channel strategies and company goals. Drives business today, as well as future growth with focused objectives, strategies, tactics and milestones to achieve sales plans.

  • Lead development of customer acquisition plans in conjunction with Marketing Channel Managers, that are relevant for the Company's brand positioning and drive incremental traffic and revenue for the Company.

  • Develop business plans including the annual budget for Ecommerce outlining objectives, strategy, tactics to achieve overall financial goals for product sales, margin & operating income. Develops and owns the business financial forecast and projections in conjunction with Finance and ensures alignment with Merchandising, Ecommerce operations and shipping partners.

  • Work closely with Omni-channel team from an inventory standpoint to ensure promotions and sales growth are supported.

  • Manage partnerships such as marketplaces, assortment expansions (new brands) and other efforts to support the growth of the Ecommerce business.

  • Maintain expertise of the Ecommerce landscape and online competitors, identifying category trends and online growth opportunities.

  • Drive the development of the mobile experience, mobile apps, and future mobile capabilities that are relevant and integrated with other digital and customer efforts for a seamless experience.

  • Oversight to team that manages day to day QA and execution of content across the websites including product & promotional merchandising, online marketing campaigns, website design, customer service, web analytics, and web technologies.

  • Help support and manage direct and indirect reports.

What you will need to be successful....

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field

Experience

  • Minimum of 10-12 years' experience in Ecommerce, driving business strategy and execution with proven financial results

  • Experience in retail industry preferred

  • Proven experience building and directing a cohesive team of internal and external partners to effectively develop Ecommerce solutions

Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Other

  • Proven ability to understand Ecommerce business models including trends, competitors, distribution channels, customer base, promotion, and products

  • Demonstrated strong business judgement and decision-making skills

  • Experience on current Ecommerce industry best practices; ability to consult on cross-functional projects to ensure Ecommerce principles are incorporated

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills

  • Ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives

  • High level of creativity and innovation
