Christopher & Banks Sr. Director - Media and Customer Strategy in Plymouth, Minnesota


Christopher & Banks is looking for a Sr. Director - Media and Customer Strategy for our Corporate Office in Plymouth, MN.

The Sr. Director - Media & Customer Strategy is responsible for developing and executing integrated strategies that drive customer retention, reactivation and acquisition efforts. The position has responsibility for the loyalty program, direct marketing and digital media strategies which includes leading the customer analytics that enable the Company to identify and capitalize growth strategies to achieve sales and profitability goals across all channels.

How you will spend your time...

  • Drive the overall customer strategy including analytics, segmentation and contact plans that optimizes our customer database driving revenue and profit.

  • Lead the development and execution of the marketing plan optimizing spend across direct mail, email and digital media.

  • Manage the loyalty and private label credit card program to drive participation and customer loyalty.

  • Coach and develop team to maximize performance and ensure job satisfaction, retention and future advancement. Evaluate and recommend appropriate organizational structure to support changing business needs.

  • Monitor industry trends and issues that affect our business particularly related to social media.

  • Direct reports include Sr. Manager Digital Media and CRM Managers.

What you need to be successful...

Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance or Statistics or equivalent experience


  • 10-15 years of Marketing including 5 years in Leadership role

  • 6-8 years of experience managing marketing programs including direct mail, email and digital media as well as loyalty programs

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing and developing a team

  • Knowledge in database marketing and customer analysis for an omni-channel retailer


  • Knowledge of all facets of marketing with expertise in direct response marketing across all media

  • Ability to think strategically about the development and execution of integrated programs

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to develop and mentor a team

  • Strong project management and cross-functional team leadership

  • Partnership marketing preferred
