Overview

Christopher & Banks is looking for a HR Benefits Specialist for our Corporate Office in Plymouth, MN.

The HR Benefits Specialist will execute the ongoing operational tasks of the Company's benefit programs. In addition, they will provide HR project support.

How you will spend your time...

  • Execute the ongoing operational tasks of the Company's benefit programs. Oversee the data transfer process between the benefits enrollment system, third-party vendors, and the payroll/HRIS system. Conduct audits related to benefit plan enrollment and operations to ensure data integrity. Serve as a point of contact for Associate benefits questions and education. Assist with the evaluation of new well-being programs to align with the Company's culture and values. Play a key role in the annual Open Enrollment cycle.

  • Provide HR project support in the areas of the benefits, compensation, payroll, leaves, worker's compensation, unemployment, reporting, auditing, etc. Perform operational tasks and serve as a back-up HR/payroll as needed.

  • Assist with compliance efforts throughout the year (ACA reporting, Form 5500 filing, nondiscrimination testing, etc.).

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations in all areas of responsibility.

What you will need to be successful....

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

Experience

  • 2-3 years of work experience in Human Resources; benefits experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Certifications

  • Detail and process oriented

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time

  • Strong analytic aptitude

  • Ability to meet commitments and deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to interact positively with customers and vendors

  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations related to human resources and benefits

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with advanced Excel skills preferred
